Meet Matt Shannon, Owner of BrightGrid Electric

Hi, I’m Matt Shannon, and I’m the owner of BrightGrid Electric. I serve homeowners and businesses in Bozeman, Big Sky, Belgrade, and throughout the Gallatin Gateway. I started this company because electrical work has been a part of my life from the beginning. My father owned an electrical business, so I grew up around tools, job sites, and the value of doing work the right way.

After trade school, I spent years learning from different companies and taking on bigger jobs. I also worked as a lineman, which gave me a solid understanding of complex electrical systems. Over the years, I earned my master electrician license and built a strong foundation in the trade. With 13 years in the industry, I decided it was time to build something of my own—something that could support my family and offer a level of service I’d be proud to put my name on.

At BrightGrid, my goal is to make every project simple and stress-free for my customers. I believe in upfront pricing, walking through every step before I start, and keeping communication clear from start to finish. I show up on time, keep the workspace clean, and treat your home with respect. Whether I’m installing a whole-home generator or helping design new lighting, I handle it like it’s my own property.

My favorite part of this work is meeting people, solving problems, and seeing the relief on someone’s face when an electrical issue is finally fixed. I enjoy troubleshooting and finding the right solution, but helping people feel safe and confident in their home is what keeps me going.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my growing family—two kids at home and one on the way. We love being outdoors, staying active, and enjoying everything Montana has to offer.
